The Alabama state bird is called the yellow hammer but also referred to as the northern flicker. This came official in 1927. Alabama has been known as the Yellow hammer state since the civil war.

The southern pine tree was first designed the state tree in 1949. In 1997 the legislative narrowed it down to southern long leaf pine. Also known as the pinuspalusstris.

STATE CAPITAL
The state capital is Montgomery. the capital bulding is located at 600 dexter avenue. they completed the year 1851.

STATE HOOD
It was admitted as the 22 state in 1819 . In Alabama declares independence from the union. 1868 Alabama is remitted to the union.

STATE NICK NAMES
The first name nick that they were called was the heart of dixy, cotton state, and yellow hammer. The stat has reason for calling them a Yellow hammer for a reason that reason is that the state has a lot of Yellow hammer birds.

State salt water fishThe Alabama state saltwater fish is the tarpon. These fish are very large and can grow up to eight feet long.
